Taku Anekawa [I don’t know anything]

NANZUKA UNDERGROUND is pleased to present a new works of show by Taku Anekawa in a solo exhibition since two years and half.
Taku Anekawa, born in 1970 in Hyogo prefecture of Japan, has master degree from Kobe Design University. He has worked as media creator for animations and digital contents. Anekawa is renowned for his work in Japanese TV children program Ponkickies creating the “Mysterious Vegetable Aliens appear” series. He has worked on the artwork that uses embroidery to grope for the self-portrait as the artist after 2002.
He creates chaotic perspectives using images of magazines and websites. Mysterious characters, hands, rainbows, dramatic vivid planets, mountains, glass marbles, chairs, ammonites, Thunder, mushrooms, all of these are represented randomly, showing chaotic images that might remind big cities such ad Tokyo made by high technologies and too much information. The talent he has is to show freak forms as comical. Parodying horror is one of his features, he changes horror into comical forms on one picture, and by doing he establishes the initiative consisted of mischief and fetishism. His attitude might be conservative on contemporary art. He has explored how to create foolish art works. He always attitude against conceptual and contemporary art is shown through the works.
He created a poem for this exhibition.
I don’t wanna know anything, I don’t even know anything.
I can’t do anything, I have no idea for everything.
Feelings flow at once, and it forgot yesterday.
There is no answer in anywhere, I don’t even wanna know it if there is.
I love the internet because it is foolish, I love the TV because it is stupid.
I’m in love with unsure possibility.
I make it while just doing with while my body.

姉川たく [ なんにも知らない ]

このたび、Nanzuka Undergroundは、約２年半ぶりとなる姉川たくの新作個展を開催いたします。今回の展覧会に向けて、姉川はドローイングと刺繍のコンビネーションによる大作の平面作品４点と、刺繍による絵本作品のシリーズを発表します。「 なんにも知らない」と題された今回の展覧会は、姉川の得意とする奇異とコミカルという素材を秘められたストーリーによって紡ぎ上げた渾身の新作シリーズからなります。
姉川たくは、1970年兵庫県神戸市生まれ。1995年に神戸芸術工科大学大学院修士過程を卒業した後、主にアニメーションやデジタルコンテンツといったメディア・クリエイティヴの現場にて活躍する一方で、2002年以降アーティストとしての自画像を模索するべく、刺繍を用いたアートワークに取り組んできました。
姉川の作品は、インターネット上に落ちている無数の画像、雑誌の切り抜きなどを基に、意図的な無計画性によって構成された画面を得意としています。姉川の画面には互いに関連性を持たない様々な要素が登場します。奇怪な人物、着飾った手、虹、極端にカラフルな惑星や山、昆虫、ガラス玉、椅子、アンモナイト、雷、キノコなど、このように一見すると脈略を欠いたイメージの羅列に思える姉川の描く世界は、しかしハイテンションとハイスピードの織りなす今日の東京という都市の持つ特有の表情を的確に表しています。「いかにバカバカしい画面を生み出すか」と語る姉川は、計算されたメッセージ性や用意周到なコンセプト提示といった現代美術の主要な条件に対して、常に純粋なる抵抗を試みています。しかし、そうした姉川の創作姿勢が、今日の拡大した芸術と美の不幸せな関係に対してむしろ保守的であることは、意外な盲点であるようにも思えます。
姉川の独創性は、1999年に話題となった人気子供番組「ポンキッキーズ」における「なぞのやさい星人あらわる」において大きな脚光を浴びたように、「奇を衒う」という発想を生まれながらに持ち合わせている点にあります。姉川の作品には、「本当は恐ろしいけど、どこか笑えてきてしまう」といったような奇異な場面が頻繁に登場します。人の深層心理に、ほんの僅かに触れて、また逃げ去るような、絶妙な空気感を持つ姉川の作品は、計算された悪戯心とフェチズムの絶妙なバランスで成り立っているのです。
姉川は、今回の個展に寄せて、次のような詩を謳っています。
「なんにもわからないし、なんにも知りたくない。 どうしようもないし、どうにもしようがない。 感情はすぐに流れていくし、昨日のことは忘れてしまう。 結論なんて、どこにもないし、むしろ知りたくもない。
インターネットはくだらないからスキ。テレビはバカだからスキ。 わからない可能性に恋してる。 身体全体でぎりぎりしながら作る。」
